General Eligibility Requirements
The exchanges are open to students who have completed, or are doing, some philosophy or political theory courses or subjects and who have completed at least a year of university study. Preference will be given to students who are specialising in Philosophy or Political Theory and who will have completed two years of study at the time of the exchange.
In the case of Luiss University students, preference will be given to those involved in Philosophy or Political Theory in the graduate program.
European students also have to satisfy English language requirements. This can be done by:
* their courses in Europe being conducted entirely in English;
* having an acceptable IELTS score;
* having an acceptable TOEFL score;
* having an acceptable TWE/Essay Rating; or
* through a letter from your Institution Coordinator that you are capable of taking courses in English.
NOTE: The University of Melbourne will not accept a letter as evidence of English language proficiency, so all European (Except Lancaster University) applicants are urged to immediately arrange to undertake one of the English language tests above. To assist in understanding the following course requirements and to ensure consistency, load is expressed in terms of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Students selected for exchange will undertake a full-time load (30 ECTS) at the host institution for on average a period of 6 months. That may be made up entirely of courses/subjects identified as falling within the Ethics, Human Rights and Institutions stream, but at at least 22.5 ECTS must be courses/subjects identified as courses/subjects identified as falling within the Ethics, Human Rights and Institutions stream. The remainder may be made up of other courses/subjects offered by the host institution.
It will not be possible to do courses/subjects similar to ones already completed.
A full time load for 6 months equals 30 ECTS.
Australian students visiting an EU partner must make a short visit of at least two weeks to one other EU partner institution. Advice and assistance will be provided about how to satisfy this requirement.
